The intervention, promoted by the University Institute of Research in Archeology and Historical Heritage of the University of Alicante and the Museum of Xàbia, has been supported by the Town Hall of Gata and has been carried out with the participation of students of the university The Rana site, known since the 90s, is a pottery from Roman times that produced various types of amphorae - especially flat base, type Galoise IV - as well as other common ceramics (dishes, jugs, jars, basins, etc ...) and construction materials. Today, we will present some of the data obtained in this first campaign, which is still in the phase of inventory, classification and study.

I visited these two sites a year ago and found them very provocative. I remember at t-shaped doorway and thought about the similarity to the doorways in archaeological sites of the Southwest US. Professor Steve Lekson is doing research right now on the roads that go into Mexico from the SW. Are you exploring a link? Congratulations on your work here, it is important. Comments are closed.
