The AMUX invites you to enjoy another “Wednesday for the Curious”
on Wednesday 17 December at 19:00 in the Museum of Xàbia On 17 December the recent past will be brought to life in the in the attic of the Museum of Xàbia. For on that date we have organised a visit to the ethnographic displays, guided by our president Ximo Bolufer. We will learn more about the artefacts on display, their use, their socio-economic environment, their history. We will learn how the “tosca stone” was extracted on the Montanyer, how the ruiraus were built and their use in raisin preparation, the “casas de campo” or country sheds, wells, waterwheels, mills, lime kilns and the magnificent houses constructed for the local bourgeousie. We will also discover the way in which local artisans worked: the carpenters, 'tosqueros', ironworkers, agriculural labourers, shoemakers, boat builders, etc. Come along on Wednesday 17 December at 19:00 and join in the tour with the AMUX. The talk will be given in castellano with translation into English or German. As always, we invite you to stay and share a drink with us, this time with Christmas sweetmeats, accompanied by a few 'villancicos' or carols. And there will be a special event to surprise you! All welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.
